Changes are coming to the Port of Los Angeles & Port of Long Beach's Pier Pass program. Say Hello to Pier Pass 2.0.
The updates will go into effect on Monday, November 19, 2018.
The current Traffic Mitigation Fee (TMF) of $72.09 per 20’/$144.18 per 40’, 40HQ, 45’
Will be replaced by a new flat fee of $31.52 per 20’ and $63.04 per (40, 40HC, 45).
The old TMF fee for Pier Pass 1.0 was only applicable during peak hours: 3:00am to 5:59pm (excluding holidays).
The new TMF Fee for Pier Pass 2.0 will be applicable on all containers, for all shifts (day & night).
What will be exempt from the TMF?
- Empty Containers
- Rail intermodal containers
- Transshipped containers (cargo that arrives at the Port of Los Angeles or Long Beach on one vessel and leaves a second vessel without entering U.S. commerce)
- Domestic cargo
- Bare chassis
